Inspired by textiles, I have explored ‘Textile Tectonics,’ an art form in which textiles are transformed into 3D structures.

In order to understand the inherent micro-structure of textiles, samples were coated in gold and placed under a scanning electron microscope (SEM) which produced high definition images, illustrating the map-like form structure.

These images were then translated into textile-inspired architectural models, that are both flexible and functional.
